Fox News reported the arrest of an undocumented immigrant in Florida who previously threatened to bomb the office of US Congresswoman Kathy Castor.
A statement from the Department of Homeland Security said, “The undocumented immigrant who issued profane threats to bomb a member of Congress’s office over the weekend has been arrested.” It also confirmed that the immigrant will be deported.
According to the channel, the individual is Cuban citizen Rigoberto Albisar-Martinez, 58, who was sentenced last May to one year in prison for sending voice messages threatening to bomb Castor’s office.
It is worth noting that US President Donald Trump promised on his inauguration day, January 20, during his first speech as the 47th president of the United States, to immediately stop illegal immigrants from entering US territory and to begin deporting millions of them. He also declared a nationwide emergency due to the situation at the southern border.
However, the New York Post recently reported a noticeable increase in illegal crossings of the US-Mexico border, recording more than 7,200 cases this month, a 57% rise compared to last July.
