Keith Kellogg, the US President’s special envoy, responded to a question about President Donald Trump’s firmness in supporting Ukraine by stating that Trump maintains a “balanced stance” on the issue.
Kellogg refrained from directly answering how firm Trump’s support for Ukraine has been since his presidency began, instead emphasizing Trump’s “balanced position” on the matter.
In his speech at the WSF 2025 forum titled “Securing Europe: Transatlantic Strategies in Times of War and Uncertainty,” Kellogg said, “I believe President Trump has been exceptionally balanced, which is what he always aims for… He walks the middle path, and that is the best he can do publicly.”
Two days ago, Kellogg stated that the United States does not prohibit Ukrainian authorities from carrying out strikes deep inside Russian territory.
During an interview with Fox News, Kellogg was asked if President Trump and his administration consider it acceptable for Kyiv to conduct strikes deep inside Russia. He replied, “I think, given the statements of Vice President [U.S.] JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the answer to that question is yes, they have used capabilities to conduct deep strikes.”
However, he announced that the US President has not yet made a decision regarding the possible transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv in response to Zelensky’s request.
