Hamas and other Palestinian factions are inclined to accept US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza, according to multiple sources.

A source close to Hamas told Sky News Arabia that “the movement is closer to approving Trump’s plan.”

CBS News quoted an informed source saying Hamas leans toward acceptance and may provide its response to Egyptian and Qatari mediators on Wednesday.

A Palestinian source told Sky News Arabia that Hamas “requested from the Qatari mediator a set of clarifications regarding guarantees that the war will not resume after Netanyahu receives the Israeli hostages, timelines for the Israeli army’s withdrawal from Gaza, withdrawal zones, and guarantees of no future targeting of the movement’s leaders abroad.”

On Tuesday, Trump said: “We are waiting for Hamas to approve the peace proposals,” adding, “Hamas has 3-4 days to respond to the offer, and if they do not, Israel will do what is necessary.”

He continued: “If Hamas does not respond to the plan, it will be an unhappy ending.”

He explained: “What we want is simple: we want the hostages returned and good behavior from Hamas… This is simple… We seek peace in the Middle East.”

The plan, presented by Trump alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, consists of 20 points, including a rapid ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all remaining hostages and some Palestinian prisoners in Israel, increased humanitarian aid flow, and transferring the administration of the Gaza Strip to a temporary authority of Palestinian technocrats supervised by an international “Peace Council” chaired by Trump.

The council also includes former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, while Israel retains security control over Gaza’s surroundings.

The Palestinian Authority issued a statement via its official news agency Wafa welcoming the plan, emphasizing “the importance of partnership with the United States in achieving peace in the region.”

The statement added: “We have affirmed our desire to establish a modern, democratic, non-armed Palestinian state committed to pluralism and peaceful power transfer.”

Trump’s plan does not grant the Palestinian Authority an immediate role in Gaza’s administration after the war but states that it can “safely and effectively regain control of Gaza” after implementing a set of reforms.
