During his visit today to Monufia Governorate, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, along with his entourage, inaugurated the new traffic axis at the “Shebin El Kom – Mit Khakan” entrance in the East District.
During the inauguration, the Prime Minister listened to a briefing from Major General Ibrahim Abu Lemon, Governor of Monufia, who explained that this axis is considered a new starting point for development. Its goal is to reduce traffic congestion at the capital’s entrances, contributing to advancing comprehensive development and improving the level of services provided to the governorate’s residents. This is part of the comprehensive plan adopted by the governorate to develop the road network to alleviate the traffic burden on existing axes, in line with the state’s strategy and vision to promote sustainable development.
Engineer Ashraf Tayel, the engineering consultant for Monufia Governorate, confirmed that the implementation of the new axis was carried out according to the highest standards and technical specifications to ensure quality execution. He explained that the axis extends about 24 meters in width, distributed over two directions with 8 meters for each direction, in addition to the central island occupying an additional 8 meters.
He added: “In addition to installing modern decorative lighting poles, planting trees and flower beds, and installing wooden pergolas, which contribute to enhancing the infrastructure efficiency and adding a civilized appearance befitting the capital’s entrance.”
