Russian President Vladimir Putin said during an economic forum in Vladivostok, in Russia’s Far East, on Friday that the Russian and Chinese economies complement each other and that Moscow and Beijing share common approaches and values.

Putin had just concluded a visit to China during which the two countries signed a memorandum regarding a major new gas pipeline project.
