Sustainable cooperation based on mutual respect forms a fundamental pillar to face challenges.

The agreements signed between the two countries, according to the statement, included a memorandum of understanding in the fields of trade, energy, education, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, environment, and agriculture, including a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) described as “a significant milestone paving the way for deeper economic cooperation.”

During the visit, the two sides held talks covering bilateral, regional, and international issues, discussing ways to enhance cooperation in political, economic, technological, and governance fields, focusing on achieving effective results that support national development plans and sustainable prosperity.

The two presidents emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the great convergence between their national visions and shared ambitions in development fields, and their commitment to building on the current momentum to open wider horizons for cooperation.

The statement highlighted the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish the UAE-Angola Joint Business Council, and the growth of bilateral economic activities, reflecting the private sector’s interest on both sides in strengthening partnerships.

The two sides stressed their commitment to advancing the partnership, considering sustainable cooperation based on mutual respect and shared strategic priorities as a fundamental pillar to face challenges, achieve development, and expand opportunities for the two countries, their peoples, and the region.

Separately, the two sides expressed concern over ongoing conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, affirming that lasting peace and sustainable development are interconnected.

They called for enhancing multilateral cooperation and rebuilding trust, praising the role of regional organizations such as the African Union and the Arab League.

They also emphasized the importance of strengthening Africa’s presence on the international stage as a key element for more effective global governance, and praised Angola’s role in supporting peace efforts on the continent.

Regarding the Middle East, the presidents expressed deep concern over the escalation in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, halting settlement activities, and ensuring unobstructed humanitarian aid access.

They affirmed their commitment to the two-state solution according to United Nations resolutions.

They also renewed their call for Iran to end its occupation of the three UAE islands: Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa, affirming that this constitutes a violation of UAE sovereignty and the principles of the UN Charter.
