The visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to sisterly Egypt came within the framework of the constant keenness of the leadership of both countries to strengthen fraternal ties based on a history of mutual respect, and always seeking cooperation frameworks in all fields. At the political level, there is great consensus between the two countries on regional and international issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and supporting the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state on the lines of June 4, 1967, and their right to self-determination. There is also mutual support between the two countries on several files, foremost among them supporting the proposal to rebuild Gaza, end the war, and provide aid. Additionally, there is an exchange of nominations in regional and international organizations.
Bahrain won a non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council, while at the same time supporting Dr. Khaled El-Anany’s candidacy for the position of Director-General of UNESCO for the period 2025-2029. Security and military cooperation is inseparable from strategic cooperation, as the Egyptian leadership always affirms that Bahrain’s security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, which confirms the depth of these solid relations based on the solidarity and support between the peoples of the two countries at all levels.
The outcomes of this official visit also included strengthening relations in several fields, during the talks of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian Prime Minister, with the participation of high-level delegations from both countries. The Businessmen’s Forum discussions resulted in signing several memoranda of understanding in the economic field to enhance mutual investment, exhibitions, and conferences, cooperation in aluminum manufacturing, mutual recognition of the Authorized Economic Operator program between customs affairs in both countries, as well as in tourism, antiquities and museums, competition protection, human resources development, exchange of expertise, capacity building, and in encouraging cultural exchange and rapprochement between the two peoples, a Bahraini-Egyptian Youth Council was established, along with another council concerned with urban planning. The outcomes also included cooperation in the field of social development between the two countries.
Undoubtedly, this visit will elevate relations between the two countries to advanced levels.
My relationship with Egypt is not like any other; it goes beyond the limits of a passing visit to touch the depths of the soul and settle in memory. Since my childhood, my late father used to take us to Egypt regularly, until it became part of my childhood, and the Nile became a witness to innocent moments that shaped the features of my early life.
Over the years, that relationship has not faded but has grown stronger, until Egypt became a second home that inhabits me as much as I inhabit it. I completed my higher studies there, gained experiences and knowledge that shaped my life path, and also made sincere friendships that time cannot erase. Egypt, for me, is not just a country but a continuous story between past and present, a story of love, loyalty, and countless memories. Whenever I pass through its streets or contemplate its Nile, I feel as if I return to myself, as if its threads have woven something of my soul that cannot be separated or forgotten.
