The government of the United Arab Emirates participated in the 21st meeting of the Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Authorities of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted by the State of Kuwait and chaired by Shuraida Abdullah Al-Mausharji, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in Kuwait, in the presence of Jassim Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.

The UAE delegation was headed by Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and Future and Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, accompanied by Faisal bin Butti Al Muhairi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, and Ibrahim Fikri, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at the Authority.

Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi emphasized that the meeting of ministers and heads of civil service authorities in the GCC countries represents an annual platform for sharing visions, exchanging ideas, and enhancing joint Gulf cooperation in developing government talents and specialized human resources equipped with skills and expertise, capable of actively participating in building the governments of the future. She stressed the UAE government’s keenness to actively participate in strengthening the Gulf partnership aimed at establishing an advanced talent system and supporting government cadres to participate in shaping the future.

Talent System

She stated that the outcomes and results of the meeting, along with the discussions and experiences reviewed, will contribute to supporting the implementation of the GCC leadership’s directives to enhance the talent system and government human resources, enabling them to keep pace with rapid global changes, and providing them with capabilities and solutions that enhance an attractive, nurturing, and enabling government work environment for talents, as well as supporting initiatives to increase productivity and improve quality of life.

The meeting discussed enhancing joint work among the governments of the GCC countries in developing the talent system and government human resources, and mechanisms to benefit from advanced Gulf experiences in human resource management and nurturing talents and minds.

The attendees also addressed current and future challenges facing civil service authorities.
