Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), led a delegation to China to explore ways to enhance cooperation and strategic partnerships in the renewable energy sector.

According to a statement by DEWA yesterday, the authority is currently in the tendering phase for the implementation of the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park with a capacity of 2000 MW, using photovoltaic solar panels, and a battery energy storage system with a capacity of 1400 MW for six hours.

Al Tayer stated that DEWA collaborates with several major Chinese companies across various energy fields, especially clean and renewable energy. Many leading Chinese companies participate in DEWA’s projects, particularly in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The delegation visited Huawei, BYD headquarters, Tesla factory, Sun Grow company, and the CRRC Zhuzhou Institute.
