The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed today, Friday, that “the West cannot provide security guarantees to Ukraine through foreign military forces.”

Peskov emphasized that guarantees must include both Ukraine and Russia together.

He also noted that “there are currently no preparations for talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, but the possibility of arranging them remains and can be done quickly if needed.”

These statements come amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war since February 2022, where the West seeks to provide military and political support to Kyiv, while Moscow insists that any security guarantees must also include it, amid renewed talk of mediations and potential negotiations.
