His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held yesterday in Riyadh, during which several important decisions were taken.
At the start of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on a message received from His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and on the reception of His Highness for Hussein Al-Sheikh, Deputy President of the State of Palestine.
The Council reviewed the developments in the Palestinian territories and the Kingdom’s efforts to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza by coordinating with international mechanisms to deliver aid.
The Council emphasized the importance of the joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Italy, reaffirming their commitment to achieving a just, secure, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East and calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, condemning any actions undermining the two-state solution.
The Council also appreciated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ sponsorship of the 9th Future Investment Initiative Conference to be held in Riyadh from October 27 to 30, 2025, under the theme “Key to Prosperity,” aiming to enhance investment for a prosperous and sustainable future for humanity.
Key decisions included:
- Formation of the Board of Trustees of the World Cup Esports Foundation for three years, chaired by the Crown Prince.
- Authorization of the Foreign Minister to negotiate and sign a memorandum of understanding with Moldova on political consultations.
- Approval of a memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency for cooperation in plant protection and phytosanitary matters.
- Approval of a regional cooperation protocol on fisheries management and aquaculture in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
- Approval of a memorandum of understanding on mineral wealth cooperation between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the UK’s Department for Business and Trade.
- Approval of two agreements with the governments of Liberia and Ecuador in air transport services.
- Approval of memoranda of understanding between Saudi Arabia’s Anti-Corruption Authority and Uzbekistan’s Prosecutor General’s Office and Anti-Corruption Agency.
- Approval of a model memorandum of understanding for cooperation in human rights between Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission and its counterparts abroad.
- Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Space Agency and the Indian Space Research Organisation for peaceful space activities.
- Approval of the updated national strategy for Red Sea sustainability.
- Approval of rules for determining the grades of boarding employees and workers in public agencies, both civilian and military.
- Defining the geographical scope of the Majami’ Al-Hadab Reserve.
- Approval of the final account of Al-Baha University for a previous fiscal year.
- Approval of promotions in various ministries and senior positions.
The Cabinet also reviewed several general topics on its agenda, including annual reports from the Higher Industrial Security Authority and the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta, taking necessary actions accordingly.
