Dr. Najib Al-Nassan, Director of Ambulance and Emergency Services at the Ministry of Health, announced that the Ambulance Directorate has mobilized medical and ambulance services during the Damascus International Fair activities, deploying four fully equipped ambulances and a mobile clinic to provide necessary healthcare for visitors and workers.
Al-Nassan stated that cases handled at the mobile clinic include superficial wounds, scratches, fainting, and low blood pressure, while more serious cases receive initial emergency treatment before being immediately transferred to the nearest hospital.
He pointed out good coordination with partners at the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, with joint and roaming teams working throughout the fair to facilitate transferring cases to ambulance points or clinics for treatment or referral.
As part of preventive measures, Al-Nassan explained that brochures were distributed to visitors explaining the services provided by the Ambulance Directorate and Ministry of Health, and how to request an ambulance via the command and control center at number (110) to handle any emergency around the clock.
The Damascus International Fair recorded a large public turnout during five days of official events, with the number of visitors reaching 891,000 people. The fair included participation from 800 local, Arab, and foreign companies, with official representation from 44 countries, reflecting significant local and international interest in this major economic and cultural event in Syria.
