According to the Russian newspaper “Izvestia,” Moscow-based BPA Technologies has introduced a next-generation technology to track the movements of people and objects without the need to use their biometric data. The technology relies on applying a special invisible coating on clothing, equipment, or supplies, where specialized cameras record the markers and transmit data to an analytical unit. Artificial intelligence algorithms are used to create a digital profile that simulates the movements of entities in real time.
The system enables a wide range of tasks, from analyzing consumer behavior in retail to monitoring equipment and logistics operations in the industrial sector. The system is a practical solution for places where using biometric data is difficult or undesirable due to the complexities of obtaining user consent and verifying its accuracy.
The system developers assert that the new technology will be easier and cheaper to use compared to biometric data-based systems. It is noted that Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, previously mentioned on the “Russia 24” channel that services relying on biometric data are actively developing in Russia.
