Dr. Nadia Rashid Al Mazrouei, an Emirati, won the position of Vice President of the Supreme Council of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) during the Federation’s annual meeting currently held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Al Mazrouei surpassed competitors from several countries including the United States and India, supported by strong backing from Gulf and Arab pharmaceutical associations.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), she said, “This victory is not personal but a win for the UAE, the Gulf countries, and the entire Arab world. It reflects Arab solidarity and a shared belief in the profession’s mission and its global role.”
Who is she?
Al Mazrouei is an Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Sharjah and Chair of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) UAE chapter.
She is the first Gulf woman and the second Arab woman to reach this international position after Dr. Samira Al Qasous.
Nadia Al Mazrouei has over 35 years of experience in pharmaceutical education, health leadership, and international drug policies, in addition to her pioneering role in launching initiatives such as “Green Pharmacy,” drug security projects, and healthcare innovation.
Furthermore, the Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association and Arab associations in the UAE congratulated her on this achievement, affirming that it reflects the status of Arab professionals in leading pharmaceutical work globally and enhances their presence in shaping international health and drug policies.
