According to the ministry’s statement today, the minister participated in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance in the capital Beijing, which witnessed the attendance of many heads of states, governments, and delegations from various countries. He also attended the massive military parade held in Tiananmen Square, known as the “Heavenly Square,” which included thousands of soldiers and hundreds of advanced Chinese weapons.

A commemorative photo was taken of the heads of states, governments, and delegations participating with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife. The minister also took part in the reception hosted by the Chinese president in honor of the participants, in addition to watching the artistic performance held as part of the series of celebrations.

The minister conveyed President El-Sisi’s congratulations to the Chinese president, confirming that geopolitical conditions in the Middle East prevented the president from personally attending the celebration. He also emphasized the president’s directive to support and strengthen bilateral relations with China in all fields.

The minister pointed to the depth of Egyptian-Chinese relations, which have reached the level of a “comprehensive strategic partnership” since 2014. He noted the signing of the executive program for the strategic partnership between the two countries for the years 2024-2028 in January 2024, which represents a roadmap to develop and elevate bilateral relations to higher levels, based on tangible achievements over the past years, in addition to the readiness of both countries to celebrate next year the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
