The Planning and Development Department (Tarahees) at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation announced the completion of 25,000 field inspections of buildings and constructions during the first half of 2025.

The CEO of the Planning and Development Department – Tarahees, Engineer Abdullah Mohammed Al Bahloul, stated: “The results achieved by the department during the first half reflect our commitment to enhancing performance efficiency and providing high-quality regulatory services. The achievements of the building permits, urban planning, modification, approval, and inspection departments confirm Tarahees’ vital role in supporting sustainable urban growth and accelerating regulatory procedures to serve project developers and investors in Dubai.”

He explained that during the first half of 2025, the Building and Construction Inspection Department contributed to ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety at construction sites within the areas supervised by Tarahees, conducting 4,919 community regulatory visits, 6,965 field visits to ongoing construction sites, in addition to more than 13,000 inspections via the “Inspection” app, aiming to expedite certificate issuance and ensure digital transparency.

In the same context, the Urban Planning Department issued 2,739 site plans and 217 lease plans, totaling 2,956 planning transactions. The total registered planning transactions reached 4,338, including 2,909 land boundary determinations, 393 temporary traffic diversions, 390 advertisement requests, and 296 approvals from service authorities. Moreover, 3,321 approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOC) were issued as part of the department’s efforts to support sustainable urban planning.
