During the dialogue session for senior housing officials of the GCC countries held on the sidelines of the conference titled “Sustainable Housing Models in the GCC Countries,” Al-Munai reviewed the Ministry’s efforts to implement the royal directives to accelerate housing projects to provide fifty thousand new housing units, in addition to plans to diversify and increase the real estate stock in the Kingdom to provide suitable housing for citizens and strengthen partnership with the private sector.

Al-Munai stated that the Ministry launched several new programs and initiatives to enhance cooperation with the private sector to improve housing service quality and speed up citizens’ access to suitable housing. She pointed out that several programs were launched during the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector held in April.

She detailed the modern housing programs, including the “Tomooh” program, the “Off-Plan Sale” program for beneficiaries of the Government Land Development Rights program, the “Private Land Development Rights” program, alongside the launch of the second version of the “Bayti” real estate platform with additional features, and the launch of “Tashil+” financing, adding to the financing options provided by the Ministry for immediate housing financing. She confirmed that developing and innovating housing programs in partnership with the private sector is part of continuous efforts to provide innovative and immediate housing solutions.

In the same context, Al-Munai confirmed that the Ministry, in partnership with several government entities, is implementing the Muharraq development project to preserve its historical and cultural identity. This includes providing housing units that meet the aspirations of Bahraini families planned to return to live in Muharraq city, with 300 new and renovated units in the first phase and plans to develop 2,000 units in future projects in partnership with the private sector.
