US President Donald Trump confirmed on Wednesday that he was unaware of the rumors circulating on social media about his death over the weekend.
Trump (79 years old) commented on these rumors during a press conference, saying he was “very active” during the Labor Day holiday, adding: “I did nothing for two days, and they said: something must be wrong,” according to Sky News Arabia.
The news of Trump’s death had spread after he was out of sight for several days, despite his clear schedule during the weekend.
Trump’s name trended on social media, but this time for reasons unrelated to politics or the fiery statements he usually makes to stir controversy.
The platform “X” was ablaze on Saturday with provocative phrases, most notably “Trump is dead,” which sparked a wave of debate and questions about who started such rumors.
Vague statements from some of Trump’s close associates contributed to fueling these rumors, opening the door to more analysis and speculation, despite the absence of any official confirmation about his condition or the truth of the circulated information.
