The Egyptian Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Sector urged Egyptian citizens traveling to Singapore to comply with local laws following Singaporean authorities’ decision to criminalize possession or use of electronic cigarettes (vapes) of all kinds.
Singaporean authorities confirmed that violating these instructions exposes travelers to severe penalties, including heavy fines and possible imprisonment, with tightened inspection procedures at airports and entry points to detect these types of cigarettes due to their harmful substances that may be classified as drugs.
The Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Sector emphasized the need for caution, clarifying that legal responsibility lies entirely with the traveler and that airlines bear no obligations in case of violations of Singapore’s local laws.
