Cairo, 3 September / BNA / A joint statement was issued on the occasion of the official visit made by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt. The full text is as follows:
1- Within the framework of the historic ties and strong fraternal relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the kind directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to enhance bilateral relations in various fields, His Excellency the President received on Tuesday, 3 September 2025, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who is on an official visit to Egypt heading a high-level delegation. His Highness conveyed to His Excellency the President the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his wishes for Egypt’s continued progress and prosperity.
In turn, the President requested to convey his greetings to His Majesty the King and his wishes for the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain to enjoy continued stability and prosperity.
2- His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his happiness with the visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, praising the warm reception and generous hospitality, and affirming his pride in the distinguished strategic relations between the two countries based on solid foundations of brotherhood and mutual respect. He also praised Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting Arab nation causes and confirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to continue enhancing cooperation with Egypt and opening new horizons in various fields to meet the aspirations of the Egyptian and Bahraini peoples for progress, prosperity, and sustainable development.
3- Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, also received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, where they held an extensive session of talks attended by several ministers, senior officials, and business community representatives from both sides. The talks addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations, especially in economic, commercial, investment, and developmental fields. They praised the efforts of the Egyptian-Bahraini governmental committee for commercial, economic, and scientific cooperation and the resulting memoranda of understanding signed during the visit in various economic, tourism, financial, commercial, investment, cultural, and technological fields. They commended this effective mechanism as an important driving force highlighting priority areas for both countries.
4- Both sides welcomed the outcomes of the Businessmen’s Forum held on the sidelines of the visit, as it represents an effective link between the business communities of the two countries, as well as the field visits made by the Bahraini business delegation during the visit.
5- The Egyptian side congratulated the Kingdom of Bahrain on its election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for 2026 and 2027, confirming Bahrain’s international esteem and active role in enhancing international peace and security. The Egyptian side expressed confidence in Bahrain’s ability to represent the Arab group in the Security Council and defend priority Arab issues at the United Nations, especially the Palestinian cause.
6- Both sides welcomed the distinguished level of mutual support and endorsement of nominations in regional and international organizations. The Bahraini side reaffirmed its support and endorsement of Dr. Khaled Al-Anani’s nomination for the position of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the 2025-2029 term. The Egyptian side expressed its thanks and appreciation to Bahrain for its support of the Egyptian candidate.
7- The talks also addressed regional developments of mutual interest, affirming that the security of the Kingdom of Bahrain is an integral part of Egypt’s national security. They stressed the importance of confronting current security and political challenges in the region and working to resolve regional crises through dialogue and political solutions. Both countries expressed their determination to enhance coordination and joint consultation, especially amid the rapid developments in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of supporting the stability of regional countries and preserving their territorial integrity and the safety of their national institutions.
8- Both sides reaffirmed their firm positions on the Palestinian cause, based on supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the lines of 4 June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. They stressed the need to respond to efforts to end the war, immediately cease fire in the Gaza Strip, and release hostages and detainees. They also emphasized the importance of providing protection for the Palestinian people and Israel’s commitment to international humanitarian law, including ensuring safe and urgent access to humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip to face the humanitarian disaster and famine suffered by the brothers in Gaza. Both sides reaffirmed their rejection and condemnation of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land under any pretext.
9- The Arab Republic of Egypt appreciated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continued support for the Arab/Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza and expressed its anticipation of Bahrain’s participation in the “Cairo International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza,” scheduled to be held in cooperation with the Palestinian Authority and the United Nations upon reaching a ceasefire agreement.
