US President Donald Trump called on the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas to release all Israeli detainees.

He wrote on his official page on the “Truth Social” platform on Wednesday evening: “Hamas must immediately return all twenty hostages, not 2 or 5 or 7, and things will change quickly and end.”

Hamas announced its acceptance of a new proposal received from Egyptian and Qatari mediators regarding a ceasefire, which includes stopping the war, releasing Israeli prisoners, and allowing aid entry. However, Israel ignored this proposal and did not discuss the deal, despite nearly two weeks passing since Hamas’s approval.

According to Reuters, the proposal accepted by Hamas calls for a 60-day ceasefire, the release of 10 live Israeli prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza, and handing over the bodies of 18 prisoners in exchange for the release of about 200 Palestinians sentenced to long prison terms in Israel.

Tel Aviv estimates there are 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, 20 of whom are alive, while more than 10,800 Palestinians are held in Israeli prisons suffering from torture, starvation, medical neglect, and many have died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.
