The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas stated that the criminal occupation army continues its brutal aggression on Gaza City for more than 20 days, escalating systematic destruction of residential neighborhoods, bombing homes and tents over their inhabitants’ heads. The latest brutal bloody targeting was of the Al-Jaraisi family home in the northern city, resulting in the death of at least 10 family members, a repeated scene of horrific war crimes committed in full view and hearing of the world.
In a statement via its official Telegram channel on Wednesday evening, Hamas added: “The scene of genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip is completed by tightening the suffocating siege, systematically starving civilians, and deliberately targeting what remains of the medical sector, in blatant defiance of international will and humanitarian laws established to protect humanity from these crimes and atrocities.”
It called on the international community and the United Nations to uphold the fundamental principles on which the international system is based and to urgently act to stop the crime of genocide and displacement that the war criminal Netanyahu’s government is intensifying, and not to allow this gang to continue its plans that threaten international peace and security and undermine regional and global stability.
Earlier, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation army, Eyal Zamir, announced during a field tour in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday that the army has moved to the “second phase” of the military operation called “Gideon’s Vehicles,” claiming to have achieved the war’s objectives.
Zamir said, “The recovery of Israeli captives is a national and moral mission,” adding that his forces “will continue to strike Hamas’ centers of gravity until they are resolved.”
During the reconnaissance tour accompanied by southern region commanders, the 162nd Brigade, and several other brigades, Zamir reviewed the operational situation and plans to deepen the incursion into Gaza City.
The Chief of Staff pointed out that the occupation army has begun “a wide recruitment of reserve soldiers to reinforce the attack,” adding that the soldiers are facing “one of the greatest challenges in Israel’s history,” according to his expression.
It is noteworthy that the occupation has intensified its operations in the heart of Gaza City in recent days amid wide escalation and continuous targeting that leaves dozens of martyrs and wounded daily among civilians.
