Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, visited today, Monday, the site of a break in the 800 mm diameter water main on Alexandria Street in the First Tanta district, before the Tenth of Ramadan mill on the Tanta-Alexandria agricultural road, immediately after the operations room at the governorate received a report of the incident. This visit is part of ongoing field follow-up and to ensure rapid response to any emergency affecting citizens’ lives.

The visit was attended by Major General Mohamed Abdel Fattah, Head of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company in Gharbia, and Engineer Mohamed Abotira, Executive Director of the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation in the governorate.

The Governor confirmed that the governorate’s agencies and the water company immediately moved to the reported location, deploying 20 water suction trucks and 2 excavators to quickly locate the broken line and begin repair works, while taking all necessary measures to manage traffic flow and prevent congestion around the site.

El-Gendy explained that repair works are currently underway intensively to quickly restore water pumping to the areas affected by service disruption, including Al-Nahas, Al-Moahada, and Al-Nadi streets, as well as several side streets in the First Tanta district.

He emphasized that the company continues its continuous work to contain the situation and alleviate citizens’ inconvenience as soon as possible.

The Governor affirmed that the governorate prioritizes citizens’ comfort, with the operations room monitoring the situation around the clock until the repair works are fully completed and service is restored to normal. He also thanked the technical teams and workers who continue fieldwork under emergency conditions to ensure service stability.
