The Royal Jordanian Federation for Marine Sports is organizing the 3rd Arab Open Fishing Championship in the city of Aqaba from September 5 to 7, supported by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.

The championship features elite professional fishermen from several Arab brotherly countries, reflecting the advanced status the event has gained regionally and confirming Jordan’s success in organizing and hosting major marine sports events.

On the sidelines of the championship, the Federation is also organizing the Aqaba Fishing Championship to support local marine sports and provide an opportunity for Jordanian fishermen and amateurs to participate in a distinguished professional atmosphere.

Ramzi Al-Kabariti, President of the Royal Jordanian Federation for Marine Sports, said the championship is a direct catalyst for tourism activity in Aqaba, attracting visitors from inside and outside the kingdom and boosting the hospitality, restaurants, marine transport, and sports equipment sectors. He pointed out that the championship helps highlight marine tourism as a unique product reflecting the beauty and biological diversity of Jordan’s marine environment.

He explained that hosting the 3rd Arab Open Fishing Championship in Aqaba reflects growing confidence in Jordanian capabilities to organize major marine events. He noted that Aqaba has become a preferred Arab destination for marine sports enthusiasts, and the Federation is working to enhance this trend by developing infrastructure and providing a safe and professional environment for fishermen, aligning with the kingdom’s vision to support sports and environmental tourism.

Al-Kabariti also indicated that the championship carries an environmental and tourism message, contributing to raising awareness about the importance of preserving fish wealth and encouraging responsible fishing to ensure the sustainability of marine resources for future generations.
