Four hundred trucks carrying various humanitarian aid moved to the Gaza Strip at 6 a.m. today, Sunday, from the Rafah crossing to the Kerem Abu Salem and Al-Ouja crossings in preparation for their entry into Gaza.
During the first hour, 90 trucks crossed from the Egyptian side of Rafah to the Kerem Abu Salem and Al-Ouja crossings in preparation for entry into Gaza.
It is noted that for the first time since last March, humanitarian aid is also being sent through the Al-Ouja crossing due to the large number of trucks expected to enter.
Thousands of food and medical aid trucks are waiting for permission to enter Gaza following the agreement reached between the Israeli entity and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) a few days ago.
Hamas leader Osama Hamdan told AFP today, Sunday, that five entry points for relief are expected to open under the agreement, adding that the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt will be reopened “for individuals in both directions next Wednesday.”
Hamas leader Ezzat al-Rishq said yesterday, Saturday, that the movement continues its efforts with friendly countries and parties to ensure the entry of aid and relief into Gaza amid difficult humanitarian conditions faced by Palestinians due to the Israeli extermination war.
Coordination is underway with all parties to open the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side next Tuesday to allow the reception of wounded, injured, and sick Palestinians coming from Gaza, as well as individuals among Palestinians, foreigners, dual nationals, and those stranded in Egypt.
On Saturday, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto revealed that the Rafah crossing will be opened next Tuesday in both directions under European supervision.
Italian media quoted Crosetto as saying: “On October 14, 2025, and in implementation of the Trump agreement, the Rafah crossing will be opened alternately in two directions: exit towards Egypt and entry towards Gaza, in coordination with the European Union.”
He confirmed that Italian operations within the EU mission to reopen the crossing have resumed under the same conditions as in January.
The spokesperson noted that the Israeli entity is working to restore the logistical readiness of the crossing’s infrastructure as quickly as possible.
Crosetto added that about 600 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid will enter Gaza daily through other crossings (not Rafah).
Crosetto said, “The passage of individuals will not be limited to serious medical cases but will expand to include anyone wishing to do so (subject to mutual approval between the Israeli entity and Egypt).”
This comes after a ceasefire in Gaza came into effect on Friday afternoon, following the agreement of the Israeli entity and Hamas on the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan to stop the war in Gaza.
