An Israeli source familiar with the details of the agreement between Israel and Hamas said that US President Donald Trump is expected to visit Israel early next week and deliver a speech in the Knesset.
This comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called him and invited him to visit Israel.
The conversation took place shortly after President Trump announced last night that Israel and Hamas had signed the first phase of his ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip.
In a tweet on the social media platform “Truth” which he owns, Trump wrote: “I am honored to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan. This means that all hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw its forces to the agreed line – as a first step towards a strong, stable, and lasting peace.”
