On Saturday, US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Bradley Cooper visited Israeli forces stationed in northern Gaza to “confirm the completion of the Israeli withdrawal to the agreed lines,” according to US President Donald Trump’s plan.

Admiral Bradley Cooper confirmed the visit in a separate statement, saying: “I just returned from a visit inside Gaza to explore how to move forward with establishing a US Central Command-led Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) aimed at coordinating stability support activities post-conflict,” according to the American FOX NEWS network.

Cooper added, “American young men and women are responding to the call to bring peace to the Middle East, supporting the supreme commander’s directives at this historic moment.”

He continued: “This great effort will be achieved without any US troops on the ground in Gaza.”

FOX NEWS reported that Witkoff and Cooper have already returned to Israel, accompanied by Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.

Zamir appears in the photo published by the network, with his face blurred.

On Friday, the Israeli army gradually withdrew its forces in the Gaza Strip to the yellow line, the first withdrawal line under Trump’s plan to end the war, after the Israeli government approved the agreement early Friday. The agreement stipulates an initial Israeli withdrawal concurrent with the release of detainees, according to the Al-Sharq news website.

The ceasefire agreement came into effect in Gaza on Friday afternoon.
