Ambassador Omar Awadallah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, affirmed Egypt’s essential and pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian cause from its inception until now. He stressed that Egypt’s role is fundamental in the history of the cause.

During a phone interview with Youm7 TV covering developments in Gaza, he said, “We are on the same front with our brothers in Egypt, and anyone who tries to divert attention from the crimes of the occupation is complicit in these crimes.” He added, “Those who try to divert attention towards Egypt, which leads a major role in protecting the Palestinian people from forced displacement and works to stop the firing, are complicit in the occupation’s crimes and want to absolve the occupation from its duties and the apparent crimes and violations.” Ambassador Omar Awadallah also stated, “We reject any harm to our brothers in Egypt, and we reject even mentioning Egypt’s name outside the correct framework as a state defending the rights of the Palestinian and Arab people, which is rejected by the leadership and the Palestinian people.” He emphasized that the Palestinian street knows well where Egypt stands and its pivotal and fundamental role in the Arab cause, which is the Palestinian cause, and that Egypt has always defended the rights of the Palestinian and Arab people.
