On Thursday, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation published the text of the agreement between Israel and Hamas based on US President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza.

The document, titled “Steps to Implement President Trump’s Proposal for the Comprehensive End of the Gaza War” and signed by the mediating countries, includes the following:

    • US President Donald Trump announces the end of the war in Gaza, and the parties agree to implement the necessary steps to achieve this.
    • The war ends immediately after the Israeli government’s approval, with all military operations suspended, including airstrikes, artillery, and targeting operations. For 72 hours, aerial surveillance over areas from which the Israeli army has withdrawn will be suspended.
    • Humanitarian and relief aid will be immediately and fully introduced as specified in the proposal, with a minimum in line with the January 19, 2025 agreement on humanitarian aid. Steps for implementing aid are attached to this agreement.
    • Israeli army forces will withdraw to agreed lines, following Trump’s announcement and within 24 hours of the Israeli government’s approval. Israeli forces will not return to withdrawn areas as long as Hamas fully implements the agreement.
    • Within 72 hours of the Israeli forces’ withdrawal, all Israeli hostages in Gaza, alive and dead, will be released, with detailed procedures for verification, release, and handing over bodies.
    • A mechanism will be established to exchange information between the parties through mediators and the International Committee of the Red Cross to ensure the safe and complete return of all bodies.
    • Upon Hamas releasing all detainees, Israel will simultaneously release a similar number of Palestinian prisoners.
    • Prisoner and detainee exchanges will be conducted according to the agreed mechanism through mediators and the International Committee of the Red Cross, without any public ceremonies or media coverage.
    • A task force composed of representatives from the United States, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, and other countries agreed upon by the parties will be formed to monitor and coordinate the agreement’s implementation.

Trump announced on Wednesday evening the reaching of an agreement between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of the Gaza plan, which includes a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, following indirect talks in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh, just one day after the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023 attack.
