German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul confirmed on Thursday that his country is ready to provide assistance to the residents of the Gaza Strip, describing the ceasefire agreement in the area as a day of joy that the residents, who have suffered greatly, hope will bring sufficient aid.

The German Foreign Minister said in a tweet on the X platform published by the German Foreign Ministry, “We Europeans are meeting today in Paris with many partners, especially from the Arab world, with whom we have worked hard in recent weeks to reach this agreement… This is a shared success that we must now build upon.”

He affirmed that “the two-state solution remains our goal and this requires strenuous efforts,” expressing his belief that “the United Nations must play a decisive role in this… and the UN Security Council, in particular, can set a framework to move forward.”
