Minister of Labor Mohamed Gabr met today with a delegation representing delivery companies and suppliers of protective equipment at the ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of advisor Khaled Abdullah, general supervisor of occupational safety and health, and Mohamed Montaser, head of the central administration for occupational safety and health. The meeting aimed to coordinate the launch of the “Your Safety Matters” campaign, recently initiated by the ministry, which targets in its first phase the protection of delivery workers by providing them with protective equipment at affordable prices and establishing a database for them. This initiative follows directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the government’s program to provide necessary protection and decent working conditions for the most vulnerable groups.
The implementation plan includes awareness and inspection campaigns to enforce the law, coordination with specialized companies to supply protective equipment, and addressing challenges faced by this segment of society. The protective equipment includes essential personal protection tools such as helmets, reflective vests, gloves, masks, and first aid kits, coordinated with several partners and supporters from the private sector and civil society.
