Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, met with Mr. Dariusz Klimczak, Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland, on the sidelines of the 42nd Assembly held in Montreal, Canada.

The meeting focused on ways to support and enhance cooperation between Egypt and Poland in civil aviation, especially in technical training, infrastructure development, and increasing air traffic between the two sides, contributing to strengthening economic, tourism, and investment relations between the countries.

During the meeting, Dr. Sameh El-Hefny emphasized Egypt’s keenness to expand cooperation horizons with Poland in various fields of air transport, based on the vital role the aviation sector plays in supporting development, enhancing communication between peoples, and expanding opportunities for tourism and commercial growth.

El-Hefny pointed out that boosting air traffic between Egypt and Poland is a key priority, especially given the increasing influx of Polish tourists to Egyptian tourist destinations, confirming that cooperation between the two countries facilitates travel, increases flights, and strengthens connectivity between European and African markets via Cairo.

For his part, Mr. Dariusz Klimczak expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s pioneering role in civil aviation regionally and internationally, praising its efforts in developing airport infrastructure and expanding air connectivity networks. He also confirmed that Egypt is one of the most attractive tourist destinations for Polish tourists, noting Warsaw’s aspiration to enhance partnership with Cairo and open new horizons in air transport projects and technical expertise exchange.

During the meeting, the Polish Minister of Infrastructure congratulated Egypt on winning membership of the ICAO Council in category two, affirming that this victory reflects the great international confidence in the capabilities of the Egyptian aviation sector. He also expressed his country’s hope that Egypt would support Poland’s candidacy for membership of the ICAO Council in category three, enhancing cooperation and joint work within the international organization.
