The Indian Ambassador to Cairo emphasized the strong interest of Indian companies in injecting new investments in Egypt, establishing new factories, and expanding from there to the European market.

Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, received Suresh K. Reddy, Indian Ambassador to Cairo, in a meeting that discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries and reviewed promising investment opportunities in the fields of industry and transport.

This meeting is part of the efforts by the Ministries of Industry and Transport to support the national economy and strengthen international economic partnerships, especially given Egypt’s promising investment climate.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister confirmed the deep historical relations between Egypt and India and the importance of enhancing economic and industrial partnerships to achieve the interests of both countries and support industrial integration. He stressed welcoming all foreign companies to invest in Egypt, including serious Indian companies wishing to participate in industrial and investment projects, especially in renewable energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries.

For his part, Suresh K. Reddy explained that Egypt represents a strategic gateway to Africa and Europe and enjoys a dynamic economy that offers great opportunities for Indian companies to invest and expand. He pointed out that Indian companies currently operating in Egypt have investments amounting to $3.5 billion and have expansion plans in several sectors, notably industrial fields, logistics, ports, and renewable energy.

During the meeting, the promising investment climate in Egypt and the positive measures implemented by the government to support the industrial sector and local and international investors were reviewed.

The Indian ambassador confirmed that Indian company leaders operating in Egypt praised these measures and the mechanisms implemented by the Egyptian government to promptly remove any challenges.

He added that there is great interest from Indian companies to inject new investments in Egypt, establish new factories, and expand from there to the European market.

The minister expressed his welcome to all Egyptian and foreign companies and investors to meet him directly and present their demands and proposals.

The ambassador expressed the Indian government’s aspiration to receive the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport in India to meet with relevant officials, discuss ways to develop and deepen bilateral relations to exploit the energies of both countries, as well as meet with heads of major Indian companies and business forums to present industrial and investment opportunities in Egypt.

At the end of the meeting, the minister invited the Indian ambassador and Indian investors to attend the “Industry and Transport Together for Sustainable Development” exhibition in November 2025.

The minister confirmed that Egypt opens its doors to all serious investments and that enhancing industrial cooperation with India represents a strategic priority, reflecting the state’s vision to transform Egypt into a regional industrial hub, support national economic development, and enhance its competitive capabilities regionally and internationally, benefiting both sides and creating promising opportunities for growth and joint investment.
