US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Thursday that President Donald Trump uses tariffs as a foreign policy tool by imposing secondary tariffs on Indian goods due to India’s purchase of Russian oil. In response to a question during an interview with Fox News about whether the US might impose additional tariffs on Chinese goods because of Beijing’s purchase of Russian oil, Bessent said Trump keeps all options open to stop the war in Ukraine, and “tariffs on China could be put on the table at some point.”
