Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held a phone call today with Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel, discussing several bilateral issues within the framework of joint efforts to enhance cooperation and deepen friendship between the two countries.
The two ministers also discussed developments in Gaza following the agreement on prisoner exchange and ceasefire, emphasizing the necessity of implementing the agreement and promptly delivering sufficient humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as well as initiating an effective political process to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution.
The ministers affirmed the crucial role played by U.S. President Donald Trump in reaching the agreement, and appreciated the efforts made by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
Safadi and Rangel also confirmed their shared commitment to increasing cooperation between their countries in various fields.
