Dr. Badr Abdel-Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, received a phone call from Marco Rubio, United States Secretary of State.

Ambassador Tammam Khalaf, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the US Secretary of State reviewed the elements of President Donald Trump’s plan to stop the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, release the hostages, allow aid to flow, prevent annexation or displacement, and the steps proposed by the US President on September 29. He noted the United States’ aspiration to intensify and continue joint coordination with the Egyptian side during the upcoming phase to achieve a ceasefire, appreciating Egypt’s leading role in achieving peace and stability in the region.

For his part, Minister Abdel-Aati expressed appreciation for the sincere efforts of President Donald Trump to stop the war in Gaza, noting Egypt’s welcome of these efforts and expressing Egypt’s hope for a swift end to the war on the Gaza Strip, de-escalation to restore calm, stability, and security in the region.

Minister Abdel-Aati stressed the necessity of allowing humanitarian aid in quantities commensurate with the humanitarian disaster, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, no annexation of the West Bank as it is organically linked to Gaza, prevention of any displacement of the Palestinian people from their land, and the importance of creating a political horizon based on the two-state solution that meets the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to self-determination and the establishment of their state, achieving security, peace, and stability for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples.
