Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, affirmed that the care for Egyptian citizens remains a top priority for the Egyptian state, emphasizing the need to develop consular work mechanisms to keep pace with technological developments and meet the aspirations of Egyptian communities abroad.

This statement came during a meeting held by the Minister with leaders and members of the consular sector as part of the regular follow-up on work progress and exploring ways to enhance consular services for citizens inside and outside the country.

The meeting is part of ongoing communication with various sectors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister also pointed out that the state places special importance on advancing the consular work system both abroad through Egyptian embassies and consulates, and domestically through the Ministry’s authentication offices. This requires continued coordination with all ministries and national bodies to facilitate procedures and provide distinguished services characterized by efficiency, speed, and transparency.

Minister Abdel Aaty stressed the importance of accelerating the digital transformation of consular services and expanding the use of electronic platforms to facilitate remote access to services, contributing to improving performance efficiency, effective communication with citizens, saving time, and launching new initiatives for this purpose, such as ongoing cooperation with the National Postal Authority to enable document authentication through post offices and digital platforms.

In the same context, and in the interest of easing procedures for citizens and providing the best services, the Foreign Minister directed the opening of new authentication offices in several governorates, especially Damietta, Suez, Fayoum, Red Sea, in addition to opening additional offices in Sharqia and Kafr El Sheikh.
