Yesterday, Sunday, the Honorable Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Abdul Salam Haykal, visited the headquarters of stc Group, accompanied by the Honorable Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha.

They were received by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Khalid Al Abdullah Al Faisal, Chairman of the Board of stc, the Group CEO Eng. Olayan Al-Wateed, and the executive leadership of the group companies.

During the visit, stc officials presented an extensive overview of their key digital services and technological solutions, including the high-speed 5G network, which is among the most widespread in the region, providing ultra-fast speeds that support Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. This includes the development of digital infrastructure such as giant regional data centers enabling cloud services, cybersecurity, smart city solutions, and the Internet of Things (IoT) supporting smart transportation, energy, and digital government services.

The digital financial services of stc bank were also showcased, which has become a leading platform in electronic payments and financial transfers in the region.

The visiting minister and attendees were introduced to sustainable initiatives focusing on innovation and digital transformation aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.

The meeting also included discussions on bilateral cooperation opportunities and exchange of expertise in the telecommunications and information technology sector, enhancing digital integration between the two brotherly countries.

The visit concluded with a field tour of the company’s facilities, where the Syrian delegation reviewed the most prominent projects and initiatives launched by stc in recent years, confirming its leadership as a regional and global digital enabler.
