Mohammad Anjarani, the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, confirmed that the U.S. Senate’s vote to repeal the “Caesar Act” is a historic step that paves the way for a new phase of supporting Syria’s reconstruction.
Anjarani said in a post on the (X) platform today that the decision “opens the door for investing resources and aid to rebuild infrastructure, improve basic services, and enhance stability and economic development in Syria.”
He expressed gratitude to all who stood with Syria, believed in its people’s cause, and contributed to achieving this accomplishment.
The U.S. Senate today voted by majority in favor of a provision within the Department of Defense budget bill that calls for the repeal of the “Caesar Act” by the end of this year, paving the way to end years of harsh economic sanctions imposed on Syria due to crimes and practices of the former regime.
