Amman, September 29 (Petra) – The Minister of Social Development, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, affirmed today, Monday, the importance of supporting and empowering the youth segment in society and investing in their energies and potentials to contribute to the progress and advancement of the nation.

During her meeting with the Director General of the “Mohafazati” Foundation for Volunteer Work and Training, Engineer Abdullah Bani Hani, Bani Mustafa pointed out that the ministry seeks to instill the values of volunteerism and enhance active participation among youth, positively reflecting on social services provided to the most needy groups, praising the efforts of the “Mohafazati” Foundation through its effective initiative across the Kingdom.

The meeting discussed efforts aimed at approving a system for social responsibility based on the provisions of the new Social Development Law, which aims to frame social responsibility in a way that serves national priorities, achieves developmental goals, and contributes to strengthening effective partnership with the private sector and civil society institutions.

Bani Mustafa explained the most prominent programs implemented by the ministry regarding the economic empowerment of families and increasing their productivity, focusing on youth in establishing their productive projects, based on the optimal investment of resource distribution on programs most related to citizens’ needs.

She emphasized the importance of classifying associations to objectively assess their achievement of goals based on specific foundations and standards, which contributes to encouraging active associations and assisting emerging ones.

For his part, the Director General and members of “Mohafazati” confirmed that the meeting comes within the context of seeking to strengthen cooperation bridges and expand partnership fields in serving society, benefiting from the ministry’s accumulated experiences in reaching various targeted groups and involving youth in the ministry’s programs and initiatives within the frameworks regulating volunteer work, which instills the values of volunteerism, deepens its impact in local communities, reflects the spirit of solidarity, and contributes to improving the living conditions of these groups.
