Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, held a bilateral meeting today, Monday, with Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, the Foreign Minister of the sisterly State of Kuwait, on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah.
The two ministers appreciated the remarkable momentum witnessed in Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations, affirming the brotherly and strategic ties between the two countries. They praised the results of the recent visit by the President of Egypt to Kuwait in April 2025, which marked an important milestone in enhancing joint cooperation.
The ministers emphasized the importance of building on this momentum to achieve further rapprochement in various fields of cooperation, especially economic and investment, reflecting aspirations and serving the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Regarding developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the ministers renewed their full rejection of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and condemned policies of starvation and killing civilians. Minister Abdel Aati reviewed Egypt’s efforts, coordinated with Qatar, to reach a ceasefire and ensure unrestricted humanitarian aid access, as well as efforts to release hostages and prisoners. He reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of any attempts to reoccupy the Gaza Strip or impose demographic changes. The ministers discussed Egypt hosting the International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza to mobilize the necessary financial support for the Arab plan and ensure the Palestinian people remain on their land, affirming their legitimate right to establish an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The two sides also touched on several priority regional issues in light of the intertwined challenges facing the region, requiring enhanced joint Arab coordination. The ministers stressed the importance of maintaining support for political and diplomatic solutions that restore security and stability to the peoples of the region.
