The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation reviewed the main features of the first chapter of the “National Narrative for Economic Development: Policies Supporting Growth and Employment,” which focuses on macroeconomic stability as a fundamental condition for the success of development efforts in Egypt. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, emphasized that macroeconomic stability is essential to create a favorable environment for growth and investment through disciplined fiscal and monetary policies.

The government is implementing more than 100 structural reforms across various entities to maintain macroeconomic stability and stimulate investment and production. The focus is on coordinating fiscal and monetary policies, improving resource allocation efficiency, and governing public investments. Efforts are also underway to enhance integration between the Sustainable Development Plan and the medium-term budget to ensure public resources are directed towards developmental priorities and maximize public spending efficiency.

The Ministry launched the “National Narrative for Economic Development” on September 7 under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. This narrative provides a comprehensive framework integrating the government’s work program and Egypt’s Vision 2030, aiming to shift towards an economic model based on consolidating macroeconomic stability, focusing on the most productive sectors with export market access, leveraging advanced infrastructure, redefining the state’s economic role, enhancing competitiveness, and encouraging private sector participation.

The Ministry also initiated community dialogue sessions involving a wide range of ministers, development partners, the private sector, and other stakeholders, alongside the “Share Your Opinion on the Narrative” campaign, enabling specialists to participate via the Ministry’s website.
