The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Zakat Affairs Department, announced that the financial aid provided during last July amounted to 40,336,734 Qatari Riyals, benefiting 4,500 families inside the country. This is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to support eligible groups and enhance social solidarity.
Mr. Saeed Hadi Al-Marri, Head of the Zakat Banks Department, confirmed the commitment to delivering donors’ money to rightful recipients according to Sharia controls and approved regulations, achieving the purification of wealth and contributing to building a compassionate and cohesive society.
The aid during July was divided into two main types: regular monthly aid, which is regularly disbursed to needy families to cover their basic needs such as food, housing, and living expenses, amounting to 16,268,866 Qatari Riyals.
The second type is exceptional lump-sum aid granted based on need, such as patient treatment, payment of tuition fees, settling debts of indebted persons, providing housing, and assisting families of Gaza residents living in Qatar, amounting to 24,067,868 Qatari Riyals.
Al-Marri noted that all aid is disbursed to registered families within Qatar after case study and verification of eligibility, confirming that the application door for aid is open via the department’s website www.zakat.gov.qa.
