The National Independent Authority for Audiovisual Regulation has called on all audiovisual service providers to dedicate exceptional media coverage to the fourth edition of the 2025 African Intra-Trade Fair, scheduled to be held in Algeria from September 4 to 10, as it is a prominent economic event that strengthens the Continental Free Trade Area.
The authority stated in a communiqué that this event reflects Algeria’s geo-economic role as a bridge linking North Africa to its continental depth, and a pivotal hub for enhancing regional integration and value chains through manufacturing and innovation, under the theme aimed at maximizing intra-African trade and building a future based on added value.
Within the framework of public service, the authority emphasized the necessity of continuous broadcasting through special bulletins and live windows from the exhibition pavilions and forum halls, with in-depth coverage of outcomes and availability of content in the two national languages and foreign languages. It also called for facilitating access to information for people with hearing and visual disabilities, affirming the public’s right to information.
The authority urged audiovisual communication institutions to adhere to the highest professional standards, including accuracy and balance between official sources, economic actors, and business incubators, in addition to strict distinction between editorial content and commercial messages during broadcasts and digital services, with a clear labeling of any sponsored content.
It considered that the continuity of broadcasting, adherence to professional ethics, and highlighting Algeria’s pivotal role in deepening African economic integration represent a national responsibility and professional commitment towards a strategic event that enhances Algeria’s image as a main gateway to the African continent and an attractive environment for investment and partnerships.
