On behalf of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Minister of Investment Eng. Khalid Al-Falih participated in the Investment Forum held in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, leading a high-level delegation that included representatives from the government and private sectors as well as a select group of business leaders.
The forum, in which Saudi Arabia participates as an honored guest, is sponsored by the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, and includes participation from several heads of state, ministers, and leaders in finance and investment from around the world.
In his opening speech, Al-Falih conveyed greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, expressing their hope that the forum would contribute to strengthening partnerships between Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Africa, and the world. He praised Senegal as a promising investment destination with political and legislative stability and a strategic location that serves as a gateway between African and European markets.
Al-Falih affirmed that Saudi Arabia views Senegal as an important strategic partner on the continent, noting that Africa possesses vast human and natural resources that place it among Saudi investment priorities. He also explained that Saudi Arabia’s participation as an honored guest represents an opportunity to enhance cooperation in areas such as water desalination using renewable energy, solar energy, and other vital sectors.
He added that Saudi Arabia is witnessing a comprehensive renaissance under Vision 2030 aimed at diversifying the economy, empowering people, and promoting sustainability, pointing to significant growth in foreign direct investment and international confidence in the Saudi economy.
The forum continues for two days to discuss investment opportunities in Senegal and to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors.
