During the summit, US President Donald Trump praised the prominent role played by the UAE in supporting the peace plan he proposed to end the war in Gaza.

In a speech at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit yesterday, the US President said that signing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza represents “a historic moment and a great humanitarian achievement,” noting that what was achieved at the summit was long thought impossible.

He added, “This day is what this region and the whole world have worked for; no one believed that achieving this historic agreement was possible, but today we all signed it. We have achieved what everyone thought was impossible… achieving peace in the Middle East.”

The US President confirmed that the war in Gaza has ended, and humanitarian aid has started flowing through hundreds of trucks loaded with food and medical supplies that have reached the Strip.

Trump expressed his gratitude to the Arab and Islamic countries that supported the agreement and extended deep thanks to the Arab and Islamic countries that contributed to this breakthrough, led by the UAE, Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar. He said: “I thank Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for hosting us with such generosity and hospitality, and for the leading role his country played in achieving this peace.”

He added, “Today is not just the end of a war, but a new beginning for peace. We will work together for a safe, prosperous Middle East, free of conflicts and hatred. We have all chosen the path of hope and construction, and we will continue on it until full peace is achieved in the region.”
