The Second Terrorism Circuit is set to hear the trial of 46 defendants today in case number 14874 of 2024, Al-Agouza Felonies, in the case known as the “Second Al-Agouza Cell.”
The session is chaired by Judge Wagdy Abdel Moneim, with judges Abdel Galil Maftah and Diyaa Amer, and court clerk Mohamed Hilal.
The referral order stated that between 2014 and March 1, 2022, within the governorates of Cairo, Dakahlia, Assiut, and Sohag, defendants numbered one to five led a group established contrary to the law, aiming to call for the suspension of constitutional and legal provisions, preventing state institutions and public authorities from performing their duties, and violating freedoms, by leading the administrative structure of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group.
The referral order also stated that defendants from the sixth to the last joined that group knowing its purposes.
Defendants 8, 9, 11, and from 33 to 40 and defendant 46 were charged with financing a terrorist group.
