Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has announced that he will only agree to a deal with Hamas under Tel Aviv’s conditions, which include the release of all Israeli hostages at once, disarming Hamas and the Gaza Strip, Israeli security control over the area, and the formation of a government independent from both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. These statements come amid widespread protests by prisoners’ families and criticism of Netanyahu’s government plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, alongside warnings from the Israeli military institution about the risks to their prisoners and soldiers in the area. Since October 7, 2023, with U.S. support, Israel has been committing a genocide in Gaza, resulting in 61,897 Palestinian deaths, 155,660 injuries, mostly women and children, over 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine causing 251 deaths including 108 children.
