The leaders of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom praised U.S. President Donald Trump, along with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, for their efforts to resolve the conflict in Gaza between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement.

In a joint statement released on Friday, the three leaders said: “It is now of utmost importance that all parties fully and without delay commit to their pledges.”

The three countries pledged to support “massive humanitarian aid packages through United Nations agencies” in the coming weeks.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, the three countries, represented by German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, issued an ambiguous statement.

The three explained that, in cooperation with the United States, they “are ready to move forward with the coordinated use of frozen Russian sovereign assets to support the Ukrainian armed forces, and thereby push Russia to the negotiating table.”

The joint statement also addressed Iran, affirming that the three governments agree on the necessity of re-imposing international sanctions on Tehran in light of its nuclear program.

The statement said: “We are determined to resume negotiations with Iran and the United States to reach a comprehensive, sustainable, and verifiable agreement that ensures Iran never possesses a nuclear weapon.”
