The draw for the 2025-2026 Egyptian Premier League season granted Al Ahly a bye in the third round and a match against Ghazl El Mahalla in the fourth round.

The Professional Clubs Association announced official changes to match times to 6 PM and 9 PM instead of 5 PM and 8 PM during August to protect players’ health and accommodate fans due to high temperatures.

The new season features 21 teams in an exceptional format after relegation was canceled last season.

The league includes 21 teams: Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids, Ismaily, Al Masry, Al Ittihad, Ceramica, El Gouna, National Bank, Modern Sport, Enppi, Tala’ea El Gaish, Ceramica, ZED, Pharco, Smouha, Ghazl El Mahalla, Haras El Hodoud, Petrojet, Arab Contractors, Wadi Degla, and Electricity of Ismailia.

Al Ahly won the previous season’s league title by just two points ahead of Pyramids after a strong competition until the last moments.
